I have been doing instructional courses teaching combat firefighting in the sense of Thinking outside the Box of normal firefighting procedures when it comes to terror attacks and what things should have been learned after 9/11. When you actually think about the term "combat", your mind thinks of war like tactics. But in the case of where we are in the business of saving lives, the whole mind set changes when it comes down to responding to a possible terror attack and what is the next mode of thought that you as the firefighter or company officer (Engine
Truck or Rescue)should have. I learned quite a few things being a first responder at both terror attacks at the World Trade Center in NYC and as a former federal officer for USDHS (Homeland Security). As a volunteer firefighter who has that experience, I have gone as far as teaching my guys about Terrorism Awareness and what its effects are (explosive and CBRNE). I find these web based sites to be very helpful when I need to refer back into some points of firefighting as well as knowledge of fire ground ops and what my role as a first responder is. Thank you for all of the knowledge you make possible on this site
